Rules of Slaw Competition:

Slaw must contain at least three different vegetables or fruits
-
The use of precut ingredients is prohibited
-
Competitors must provide their own serving vessel & serving utensil
Judge’s Considerations:
-
Taste & texture
-
Name of slaw
-
The use of non-traditional ingredients
-
Appearance, including presentation, styling & knife skills
-
User experience, including eater-friendliness & functionality of serving utensil
-
Enhancement of the main course of pork ribs seasoned with cumin & fennel
Josh's definition of SLAW:
-
75% of the ingredients should be thin-sliced (e.g., julienne, chipped, grated).
-
25% of the ingredients can be medium-diced or split. Smaller ingredients can be left whole (e.g., legumes, dried fruits, mini marshmallows).
