Participation in slaw competition is not required to attend

Rules of Slaw Competition:

  • Slaw must contain at least three different vegetables or fruits

  • The use of precut ingredients is prohibited

  • Competitors must provide their own serving vessel & serving utensil

 

Judge’s Considerations:

  • Taste & texture

  • Name of slaw

  • The use of non-traditional ingredients  

  • Appearance, including presentation, styling & knife skills

  • User experience, including eater-friendliness & functionality of serving utensil

  • Enhancement of the main course of pork ribs seasoned with cumin & fennel 

 

Josh's definition of SLAW:

  • 75% of the ingredients should be thin-sliced (e.g., julienne, chipped, grated).

  • 25% of the ingredients can be medium-diced or split. Smaller ingredients can be left whole (e.g., legumes, dried fruits, mini marshmallows).
